Cargo turnover of ports in the Arctic basin of the Russian Federation in January-September 2018 amounted to 62.46 million tons, which is 15% higher than the same period last year, according to the Association of sea trade ports of the Russian Federation.
The growth rate of cargo turnover increases after the decline in January-July to 6.7%. Last year, in January-September, the growth of cargo turnover amounted to 56.3%, - reports TASS.
Liquid cargo transshipment by the basin ports during the reporting period amounted to 39.93 million tons (+22.5%). The port of Murmansk increased the transshipment of liquid cargo by 9.8% to 23.25 million tons. Stevedoring company LLC "PKK Nord" exceeded 14.97 million tons (+24.2%). The port of Sabetta exceeded 10.7 million tons (2.5 times growth).
Dry cargo transshipment during the reporting period increased by 3.8% to 22.53 million tons. The port of Murmansk increased transshipment of dry cargo by 4.6% to 17.52 million tons.
In General, at the end of January-September 2018, the cargo turnover of the port of Murmansk increased by 7.5% to 40.77 million tons. Cargo transshipment in the port of Sabetta increased by 2 times to 10.96 million tons, the port of Arkhangelsk-by 20.5% to 2.16 million tons, the port of Kandalaksha - by 39.8% to 1.55 million tons.
At the end of 2017, the cargo turnover of the ports of the Arctic basin of the Russian Federation amounted to 74.2 million tons, including: transshipment of liquid cargo-45.08 million tons, dry-29.12 million tons. The cargo turnover of the port of Murmansk amounted to 51.67 million tons.
