The event was attended by representatives of the Government of the Arkhangelsk region, the administration of the Nenets Autonomous District, heads of enterprises, and special guests.

It is noted that the Arkhangelsk transport hub, whose participants are regional stevedoring, shipping and logistics companies, has a rich history of the transportation of goods to provide the residents of NAO with essential goods, construction materials, as well as for the supply of oil and gas projects.

“Arkhangelsk has once again confirmed its importance in the process of ensuring the life of the Arctic territories and the implementation of projects in the latitudes of the Far North. Today, a regular message has already been created - it is very important for shippers to feel calm,” Viktor Ikonnikov said, the Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Arkhangelsk Region.

Economic ties between enterprises of the Arkhangelsk region and the Nenets Autonomous District are of great importance for the effective development of the regions, as well as the prospects for the development of Arctic resources.

“The Nenets Autonomous District lives in the advanced regime of the Northern delivery, therefore the development of this sea traffic is of strategic importance for our region. The opening of navigation will help provide the district with basic consumer goods, construction materials and fuel, which are the basis of our economy,” Olga Petunina explained, the Chairman of the Council City District of Naryan-Mar.

Maritime navigation between these two ports will last until November this year. About 40 thousand freight units of cargo are planned to be transported during this period.

“Every year the volume of transported goods is growing. For these purposes two vessels are involved, one more is in reserve - if necessary it will also be involved. Naryan-Mar seaport is ready to receive all types of cargo, it has all the necessary capacity to ensure regular transportation,” Sergey Brilin said, the director of Polar Trans LLC.
