The implementation of the construction project of the deepwater area of the Arkhangelsk port implies the inclusion in the comprehensive plan of state support [the Comprehensive plan of expansion and modernization of the main infrastructure for the period up to 2024 – note of JSC “ATIH Arkhangelsk”]. This, as reported by the correspondent of “PortNews”, said the CEO of JSC “Arctic transport industrial hub Arkhangelsk” Sergey Kokin during the 4th Annual East Russia Oil and Gas Forum in Vladivostok.
According to the head of the company, the capital expenditures of the deepwater universal area of the port of Arkhangelsk construction project, designed by JSC “Lenmorniiproekt”, is 149 billion rubles, of which about 125 billion are investments in the creation of port infrastructure (dredging, construction of approach channel and breakwaters, facilities of marine traffic control system).
The cost and nature of the work implies state participation. Now, negotiations are underway to include the project in a comprehensive state support plan support [the Comprehensive plan of expansion and modernization of the main infrastructure for the period up to 2024 – note of JSC “ATIH Arkhangelsk”], after which work will be carried out to attract investors. Under an optimistic scenario, the port will be put into operation in five years, and by 2035, its cargo turnover should be about 38 million tons.
According to calculations, about half of this volume [third part – note of JSC “ATIH Arkhangelsk”] will be covered by transshipment of petroleum products and gas condensate of mining companies in the Arctic zone.
The Deepwater area of the port of Arkhangelsk construction project provides the creation of modern transport and industrial hub, including four universal and two specialized terminals with a total capacity of up to 38 million tons by 2035 annually, a highway and a railway.
