It is reasonable to postpone the introduction of restrictions on sulphur content in marine fuel in the Russian water areas until 2024. As Bloomberg agency reports, this was stated by the Minister of Energy of Russian Federation Alexander Novak. According to him, the new rules of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), according to which the world introduces a limit on the content of sulfur in marine fuel in the amount of 0.5%, may cause a sharp rise in fuel prices for the river fleet and mixed navigation vessels. At the same time, Russia will comply with IMO requirements in international waters, the minister said.
